Ellensburg, here we come.

I’m testing out this whole mobile blogging (definitely better than twitter) so I hope that this works as it is supposed to.

The story: leaving seattle at 3:30 am to try and catch the sunrise in Ellensburg, WA. Completely loaded up with gear and… Oh geez, I just realized I left all of the clothing for the shoot at home… Dang. Well I’m not off to a great start.

(Pause while I drive home to get the clothing)

Ok, so this clothing is provided by Evo at http://www.evogear.com. I’m planning on shooting some lifestyle fashion work as well as just some other random imagery that I may come across. With a full truck of equipment and 2 other photographers/models it should be a good day. I’ll keep you posted!

Here is another to add to my cell phone series! Enjoy

RGB – Brilliant Color

•April 27, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Once school starts here at AIS it seems that color charts, wheels, triangles, pantone colors, etc, etc, etc, are just thrown in every students face. This shot here is just playing around with 2 of the 3 main colors that is dealt with in photography, RGB. (Now I just need to find a blue shed next to these here…)

Branding – Business Card

•April 25, 2010 • Leave a Comment

So recently I’ve been finding that the need for business cards is high, and all of my business cards seem very cheap and lame so I decided to hand make a couple to hand out. I actually have a graphic designer, Kim Morgan, working on helping me brand myself so these are just my temporary fix.

Royal Grinders – Fremont

Ever since my internship with Evo I have loved eating at a great grinder sandwich shop called Royal Grinders. Awesome sandwiches and just as delicious gelato. In this small shop you get a chance to hang out and eat and watch the traffic flow by from the inside on those rainy days here in Seattle, but then there is also outside lounging tables and chairs when that sky does get blue on occasion.
It seems that whenever I’m in the area I love stopping here with whomever may be with me and show them the glorious food spot. So far everyone has seemed happy and full as they walk away, and so after today’s stop-in with Andreea I decided to grab a few pictures to try and entice the rest of you who may be going through the Fremont area to stop in at Royal Grinders and eat some of their food. With free wifi and a TV always on playing snowboarding and wakeboarding videos, and even sports, you are definitely able to sit back, relax, and chow down on some of the best grinders North of Downtown Seattle.

Looking Back…

Going through and re-organizing all of my work on my 5 different hard drives I was putting some of my work together into a working electronic portfolio. Over the past 4 years somehow I have accumulated over 35,000 images, granted a lot of them are doubles from the same shoot, but either way it is a huge help to have things well organized in a structured file system. I was looking for an image the other night for a prior client and it took me about 30 minutes just to find the file which held all of the images from this shoot. Time lost without bringing in any new cash flow. So if any of you haven’t started organizing your files and folders jump on it because in the long run it will save you a lot of time and headache.

Below are some of the images that I found and have always been fond of. Enjoy!

More Fashion

•April 22, 2010 • Leave a Comment

So after taking my portfolio to the Seattle Modeling Guild (SMG) today I wanted to do some more fashion work but with a little less of the harsh strobe look that I’ve been using for most of my work lately. So far it seems I’ve managed to get a little closer to the look that is “in.”
This was all thrown together quite quickly actually, and with the help of Trevor Locke at AIS he put me in touch with Amelia who was more that happy to come down to the studio on such a short notice. Grabbing equipment and then running out to West Seattle we were able to grab a couple images as the sun went down. With the assistance of Ivan Lesko who was running around acting as my light stand we shot a hand full of images. This is the first out of the gates, and there will be a couple more to come from the out takes.
